Netscape Navigator was first released in December 1994. The final release of Netscape was in 2008, version 9.0.0.6. Netscape saves its bookmarks in a file named "boomarks.html."
To Backup Bookmarks With Netscape Navigator
- Open a new window in Netscape.

- When the Netscape Bookmark Manager opens select "Tools."
- Next, select "Export."
- Choose the file you wish to import and select "Open."
To Recover Lost Netscape Navigator Bookmarks
If the bookmarks.html file becomes corrupted or is accidentally moved, users will find that they have lost their bookmarks.
- Open File Explorer and enter "bookmarks.html" in the search box.
- If no files are found then the bookmarks are likely lost.
- If File Explorer finds the file, ensure that is not from another browser by inspecting the parent folder, as other browsers produce bookmarks.html files as well.
- Identify the desired bookmarks.html file.
- Open a new window in Netscape.
